Indoor Tracking of Geriatric Patients Using Bluetooth

Presented in First AMA-IEEE Medical Techonlogy Conference on Individualized Healthcare

Slide Share Presentation

In our research, we propose a method whereby a patient
can be tracked indoors using commodity Bluetooth hardware
and smart-phone devices. By reversing the traditional
configuration, the tags become stationary and the mobile
device becomes the reader. Using the available cellular
network, the patient’s location can be queried in real-time by
caregivers. This method effectively bridges the gap between
indoor and outdoor location data, providing a greater level of
care for the patient
