Google Glass, Good or Bad idea?

I’m sure everyone has herd about Google’s upcoming project, “Google Glass”, essentially a pair of glasses that run on Android and have built quite a stir when it comes to privacy.

If you haven’t, you can catch up here:

Is such product a Good Idea or a Bad Idea?

To me, Google Glass is a great idea on paper, and the fact that you can actually an interactive software that you can easily interact with and having it able to film, locate, and detect that’s in front of you is pretty cool. But in reality, Google Glass can be a huge invasion of privacy.
Even before they have been released, there has been places that have preemptively banned these glasses fear of privacy. As much fun as this gadget looks and sounds, having the ability to record and film everything that is in front of you can really affect human interaction.
Google addresses this issue by saying that, it overcomes the fear of privacy by having a light on the Glasses light up once the microphone or camera is on.
Although that seems that would resolve the problem to the average person, being in Computer Science, we know that such features can be easily bypassed and hacked into.

Overall, i think these glasses are a cool new product, and i believe developing on it using android would be pretty great, but in the back of my mind, i’m not too crazy about the ability it has to easily invade one’s privacy. I guess time will tell if this is a great product, or a bad one.
